Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information seeyuh ("we", "our", "us") collects, how it is used, who processes it, how long it is kept, and how you can have it deleted. seeyuh is a Discord bot created and run by arkodeep. Questions: contact@arkodeep.me.
1. Information We Collect
Account and server information
- Servers: for every server seeyuh is in - the server ID, name, owner's user ID and member count, and an invite link the bot creates for that server.
- Members: for members of those servers - user ID, username, discriminator, the server they were seen in, and avatar URL.
- Settings you configure: welcome-message settings for a server, and your Steam profile if you choose to link it.
Messages and AI conversations
- Messages to seeyuh: when you mention seeyuh, reply to it, or say its name, we store your message text and its reply, with your user ID, the server ID and the time.
- AI conversation records: for each AI reply we store the conversation turns - your message (as "your name: your text", including the names of any files you attached), the tools the AI used and their results (for example web search queries and results, or text read from a web page you shared), short summaries of the AI's reasoning when it produces them, the AI model used and message IDs.
- Messages read for context: to follow a conversation, seeyuh reads the recent messages in the channel (up to about 15) before the message it is answering. We store those messages - message ID, author's user ID and display name, text, attachment names and time - so seeyuh can search past conversations. This can include messages from people who did not talk to the bot directly.
- Conversation summaries: when a conversation grows long, an AI-written summary of its earlier part.
- Search index: numeric representations ("embeddings") of stored text, used to search past chats and memories by meaning.
- Attachments: images, audio, video, PDFs and text files in a message you send to seeyuh (or in the message you reply to) are sent to our AI provider to be understood. We do not store the file contents - only their names.
Memories
seeyuh saves short notes to personalise future replies: facts people share about themselves, preferences, chat style, recurring topics, relationships between people, and - at the bot's own judgement - a server's running jokes and norms. Each memory records who or what it is about and the server (or DM) where it was learned. See section 4 for how memories are shared.
2. How We Use Information
We use this information to run seeyuh: to answer commands and messages, to understand files and links you share, to generate images, music and video you ask for, to remember context and personalise replies, to search past conversations when you ask, to show leaderboards and ranks, to keep the service working, and to investigate abuse. We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or train our own AI models on it.
3. Who Processes Your Information
seeyuh relies on the following services. Each receives only what it needs for its part.
- Discord - the platform seeyuh runs on; all messages pass through Discord.
- Google Gemini API - generates AI replies and search embeddings. It receives the messages involved in a reply (including recent channel messages read for context), attached files, relevant memories and summaries, and tool results.
- Supabase - our database, hosted in the ap-south-1 (Mumbai, India) region. Stores the information described in section 1.
- Render - hosts the bot and this website.
- Pixazo (including its PixelForge models) and Pollinations - generate and edit images and generate video and music. They receive your prompt, and the image when you ask for an edit or animation.
- Web search engines (via a metasearch library, including DuckDuckGo, Brave, Google, Bing, Yahoo, Mojeek, Startpage and Wikipedia) and YouTube - receive the search queries the AI makes. Web pages the AI reads are fetched from our server; the website sees our server's request, not your identity.
- Content and lookup services used by specific commands and AI tools: Reddit, Giphy, Unsplash, Pexels, Genius, Steam, Apple iTunes, Urban Dictionary, wttr.in (weather), Internet Archive (sound effects), memegen.link, Imgflip, cataas.com, dog.ceo, dog-api.kinduff.com, Open Trivia DB, Official Joke API and icanhazdadjoke. They receive the search term or request, not your Discord identity.
- Microsoft Edge text-to-speech and Google Translate text-to-speech - receive text to turn into speech for welcome messages and voice features.
Important: Google's use of AI requests
seeyuh uses Google's free ("Unpaid Services") Gemini API. Under Google's terms for that service, Google uses the content sent to it and the responses "to provide, improve, and develop Google products and services and machine learning technologies", and:
"human reviewers may read, annotate, and process your API input and output"
Google says it disconnects this data from the API key and project before reviewers see it. Because of this, do not share sensitive, confidential or personal information (passwords, government IDs, health, financial or similar details) with seeyuh, and don't post it in channels where you use the bot.
4. How Memories Are Shared
- What seeyuh remembers about you is available to it when you talk to it, in any server or in DMs, so it can recognise you everywhere.
- A memory about you that was learned in a server can also be used when others in that same server talk about you. It is not used with people in other servers.
- Memories learned in a DM are used only when you are the one talking.
- Memories about a server are used only in that server.
- Past-chat search only covers the current server and the asking person's own DMs with seeyuh.
5. Data Retention
We keep stored information until it is deleted:
- Ask seeyuh to forget something about you, and it deletes that memory. Server administrators can have server memories removed.
- Email contact@arkodeep.me to have all information about you deleted - messages, AI conversation records, messages read for context, memories and linked profiles.
- Removing seeyuh from a server stops it from collecting new information there. Server owners can email us to delete that server's stored information.
- A local backup on the bot's server keeps only the most recent 1,000 message exchanges.
Information already processed by third parties (for example Google) is subject to their own retention policies.
6. Security
Stored information is accessed only by the bot's server using a private key. Database tables are locked with row-level security and are not accessible with public credentials. Information is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't share sensitive information with the bot.
7. Children
seeyuh is not directed at children. You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement for your country to use Discord and seeyuh. If you believe a child's information has been stored, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International Processing
Your information is stored in India (Supabase) and may be processed in the United States and other countries where Discord, Google, Render and the other services in section 3 operate.
9. Your Rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or ask questions about how it is used, by emailing contact@arkodeep.me. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
10. This Website
This website shows public bot statistics. Its homepage loads the developer's Discord presence image from lanyard.cnrad.dev, which receives your browser's request when you view it. We don't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers on this site.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as seeyuh changes. The latest version and its effective date will always be available here.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at contact@arkodeep.me.
